“There's lots of rules you have to follow when it comes to strangers.”
--
The fourth story in The Neverglades: Multiverse Chronicles, written by guest author Zane Ness.
A young boy from Pacific Glade is alarmed when his favorite aunt starts behaving strangely. He’s always been taught not to talk to strangers, but when the people in town start to undergo a dark and sinister change, he may have to put his trust in a mysterious adult with a trench coat and magic cigar…
Characters[]
- Mark Hannigan (Child)
- The Inspector
- Aunt Naomi
- Shadow Naomi
Settings[]
Notes[]
- This universe’s main point of divergence was the Inspector entering Mark’s life earlier in his childhood. He ends up becoming a guardian figure to the young Mark, protecting him from the threat of the shadowy bodysnatchers.
- The shadow people are revealed in “Blood Moon” to have been sent by the Other, who is trying to bring Mark Hannigan and his loved ones “into the dark” where they can never be hurt again.
