Shaun Sanford and Tom Johnson (collectively known as the Weird Brothers) are a former team of bloggers famous for their paranormal investigations. They got their start after accidentally disturbing an ancient entity known as Mirror Face while filming a documentary project in college. With the help of Josephine Young, Mirror Face was presumed dead, and the duo decided to travel the country investigating other cases of the supernatural.
One of their prominent cases involved looking into the strange phenomena occurring at the Storm's End Tavern in New Orleans. Their blog attracted a large number of online fans, including Stephen Hannigan. Although they went into retirement after an incident which cost Tom his right hand, the Weird Brothers reunited for one last investigation of the Cerulean Shores Hotel, where six tourists were reported missing. They were held captive by the Backwards Woman in a strange series of pocket universes, but were ultimately able to escape thanks to the help of Olivia Marconi and Ruth Hannigan.
Later, the Weird Brothers become the target of a newly recovered Mirror Face, who wants to silence everyone that watched their documentary. It recruits the help of an entity named Nephilos who can infiltrate cyberspace and dig up clues about all the loose ends. The Brothers are alerted to the hunt and go on the run, trying to stay off the grid as much as possible, but Mirror Face executes a program to turn Nephilos into a virus that possesses its readers and makes them into sleeper agents to hunt down Shaun and Tom. Their fate afterwards is unknown.
They appear in "Seven Photographs from the Storm's End Tavern" and "Checking Out," and are major recurring characters in the "gallows hill" series and the Where Are the Weird Brothers? ARG.
